Job Description:

I. Job Summary This position requires a senior environmental engineer with extensive experience in the environmental and solid waste industry. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving and management skills to oversee a range of technical projects. Responsibilities include direct management of engineering and construction at solid waste disposal facilities, communication with senior management, and mentoring junior staff.

• Engage, direct, and manage professional consulting firms performing work tasks at solid waste facilities
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators and serve as a direct line of communication on technical and permitting matters
• Manage landfill construction projects from planning to final approval
• Actively manage and track capital budgets for engineering and construction projects
• Coordinate landfill capacity tracking and expansion potential
• Provide innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions for operational, environmental, and compliance issues
• Participate in review of acquisitions and divestitures, including modeling assistance and due diligence
• Assist in training and provide mentorship and supervision of technical staff IV. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Five (5) years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, landfill design, and permitting
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Understanding of safety regulations and accounting processes
